IMF-WIFPR Conference on the Evolving Global Financial Architecture: Nonbanks, Stablecoins, and Tokenization

The 2026 conference will be on June 16, 2026.

Jointly organized by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Wharton Initiative on Financial Policy and Regulation (WIFPR), the IMF–WIFPR Conference brings together a distinguished group of academic researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to examine the evolving global financial architecture, with a focus on the rise of nonbank financial institutions, private markets, stablecoins, and tokenization, and their implications for global macro-financial stability. Amid heightened economic uncertainty, this conference fosters timely dialogue and promotes a deeper understanding of the evolving global financial landscape.

The 2026 IMF-WIFPR Conference on the Evolving Global Financial Architecture: Nonbanks, Stablecoins, and Tokenization, will take place on June 16 at the IMF’s headquarters in Washington, DC. The program is available here.
