Plane
Philadelphia International Airport is approximately 20 minutes (depending on traffic) away from campus. There are several options for getting to campus from the airport:
Taxi from Airport
Tell the driver that you are heading to the Penn campus, 38th and Walnut Street. You will be dropped off directly by Huntsman Hall. A metered taxicab costs about $25-$30 and the ride takes 20 minutes.
Airport Express Train
The SEPTA Airport Express Train leaves 9 minutes after every half hour, and will take you to either the University City Station or to 30th Street Station. The fare is $6.00 and the ride takes 18 minutes.
Train
The Amtrak 30th Street Station is conveniently located at 30th and Market Street, a brief cab ride or walk away from the Penn campus.
Taxi from Train Station
Tell the driver that you are heading to the Penn campus, 38th and Walnut Street. You will be dropped off directly by Huntsman Hall. A metered taxicab costs about $6 and the ride takes 10 minutes.
Walk from Train Station
Exit the train station on the 30th Street side. Turn left and walk down 29th Street, crossing Market Street and then Chestnut Street, until you hit a “T” intersection at Walnut Street. Turn right and walk up Walnut Street several blocks to campus.
Car
From the Northeast
- Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 3.
- Take the Black Horse Pike (Route 168W) one mile to I-295 South.
- Go one mile to Exit 26, take I-76 to the Walt Whitman Bridge.
- Cross the Bridge onto I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway).
- Take I-76 West to Exit 345 (toward 30th Street).
- Turn right onto Chestnut Street.
- Turn right onto South 23rd Street.
- Turn right onto Walnut Street. Huntsman Hall will be on your left, on the corner of 38th and Walnut Street.
From the South
- Take I-95 North to PA-291 (Platt Bridge).
- Cross the bridge (Penrose Avenue) to 26th Street.
- Turn left onto 26th Street and follow signs to I-76 West (Schuylkill Expressway).
- Take I-76 West to Exit 345 (toward 30th Street).
- Turn right onto Chestnut Street.
- Turn right onto South 23rd Street.
- Turn right onto Walnut Street. Huntsman Hall will be on your left, on the corner of 38th and Walnut Street.
From West or North
- Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike to Exit 24 (Valley Forge).
- Take I-76 East (Schuylkill Expressway) approximately 17 miles to Exit 345 (toward 30th Street).
- Turn right onto Chestnut Street.
- Turn right onto South 23rd Street.
- Turn right onto Walnut Street. Huntsman Hall will be on your left, on the corner of 38th and Walnut Street
Parking
There is an hourly visitor parking lot across from Huntsman Hall at 38th and Walnut.
Garage is open from 6:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Credit Card only at all times
$11 for the first hour; $2 each additional hour, $30 maximum. Rate applies from 6:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
