Founded in fall 2022 by University of Pennsylvania undergraduate students Jamison Hesser, Milan Jain, and Liam La Barge, Central Banking @ Penn is a student-led initiative committed to fostering debate and discussion around monetary policy and the Federal Reserve. Housed under the Wharton Initiative on Financial Policy and Regulation, Central Banking @ Penn seeks to engage with the entirety of the Wharton community, including undergraduates, MBA students, and Wharton Faculty. In addition to educational sessions and guest speaker events with market participants, the initiative hosts monetary policy officials and thought leaders on campus for moderated discussions, including Regional Fed Presidents Patrick Harker of the Philadelphia Federal Reserve in April 2023 and Neel Kashkari of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve in September 2023.
